MIRPURKHAS, Nov 26: A fire that broke out in Tank No1 of alcohol plant of Mirpurkhas Sugar Mill on Sunday killing two labourers and injuring three others was not extinguished till Monday evening when the report was filed.
Fire tenders from Mirpurkhas, Sindhri and Digri failed to control the fire in the spirit/chemical-filled tank. Report said special team used chemical foam and other material but the flames kept leaping up.
However, staff saved other tanks by taking precautionary measures.
