Aitzaz shifted to Lahore

RAWALPINDI, Nov 24: Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan was driven to his hometown Lahore from Adiala Jail amid tight security on Saturday night, official sources said.

Mr Aitzaz would be detained in his Zaman Park house, which would be declared as sub-jail.

Aitzaz was shifted to his hometown after he filed an application with the chief election commissioner seeking permission to be allowed to file nomination papers from his constituency of NA 124 Lahore. He will file his nomination papers on Monday.

Meanwhile, President of Lahore High Court Bar, Rawalpindi bench, and another senior lawyer were released from Adiala Jail on Saturday night.

Sardar Asmatullah, the president LHC Bar Rawalpindi, and Athar Minallah were released after their detention orders were withdrawn by the Punjab government.
