Sreesanth likely to miss second Test

NEW DELHI, Nov 23: India’s maverick pace bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth is almost certain to miss the second Test of the ongoing series against Pakistan after it was revealed that he has a cracked bone in his left shoulder.

Sreesanth, who along with fellow paceman R.P. Singh (thigh strain) were ruled out of the first Test here, fell awkwardly while fielding during the fifth and final One-day International at Jaipur last Sunday to hurt his shoulder.

Dr Anand Joshi, the Indian cricket board’s medical officer, said on Friday that Sreesanth is definitely out of the second Test, starting at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata from Nov 30 because the injury required time to heal.

But according to details, Sreesanth is likely to face a lengthy rehabilitation period on the sidelines if the doctors advise him surgery.—Sports Reporter
