Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 23: Six ships carrying containers, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, four more ships with containers, edible oil and LPG also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained on the higher side at 90 per cent at the wharves where nine ships, Maersk Novazzano, Ibn Battota, ACX Dahlia, Leopard-B, Antonis, Force Ranger, Process, Tassel and Oriental Orchid, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, rapeseed, coal, edible oil, furnace oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 86,586 tons comprising 68,493 tons of import and 18,093 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Ibn Battota, ACX Dahlia and Oriental Orchid left the port while Antonis was expected to depart.
