NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 22: Journalists staged demonstration and carried out hunger strike on seventh consecutive day here outside the press club to protest the curbs on media and manhandling and arrest of newsmen in Karachi.

Journalists including president of the press club Mohammad Shabbir Khanzada, Mazhar Khaskheli, Younus Rajpar, Hafiz Abdul Haq Panhwar, Ghulam Mustafa Tager, Zahid Rajpar, Shahid Channa, Zafar Tager carried out token hunger strike for six hours.

They raised slogans against restrictions on media, imposition of emergency and arrest of journalists and lawyers.

Meanwhile, activists of Sindh National Party, led by Aziz Phul, Shaman Chandio and Qasim Isran staged demonstration outside the press club on Thursday.

In Dadu, a large number of journalists took out a rally to protest the baton charge, arrest of journalists in Karachi and in other parts of the country and imposition of ban on some private TV channels.
