ECP moved against NA speaker’s protocol

By Our Correspondent

SIALKOT, Nov 22: Former MNA and Pakistan People’s Party aspirant for NA-111, Dr Fardous Ashiq Awan, has filed a petition with the Election Commission of Pakistan, seeking withdrawal of official protocol and other incentives from the defunct national assembly speaker Chaudhry Ameer Husain to ensure fair polls in this constituency.

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, Dr Fardous Awan said Mr Husain was also contesting the coming general elections from NA-111, (Sialkot-II) as a Pakistan Muslim League candidate. She said Mr Husain was enjoying official protocol.

She was of the view that in these circumstances holding of free, fair and impartial election in the constituency was impossible.

When contacted a spokesman for the NA speaker refused to make any comment in this regard.
