Ashraful leads BD U-19 recovery


KARACHI, Nov 21: Bangladesh U-19 recovered from a poor start to end the day on a decent 273-7 against their Pakistan counterparts on the opening day of the one-off Test at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

After sending the tourists in to bat, Pakistan captain Imad Wasim had immediate success as vice-captain Tamim Iqbal was lbw to Mohammad Rameez off the second delivery of the match.

Ashraful Aziz and wicket-keeper Mithun Ali added 107 for the second wicket. Ashraful (77) went on to top score, but the tourists kept on losing wickets regularly.

Pakistan U-19 bowlers’ effort was a collective one with each of the five used claiming at least a wicket, but Rameez was the most successful with figures of 3-57.
