By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Nov 21: A local federal investigation agency (FIA) team on Wednesday arrested 192 more people from Islamabad airport who were deported by the Turkish government. They were brought to Gujranwala where they were being quizzed.

Reports said that the interior ministry had informed Gujranwala FIA passport cell additional director Hussain Asgher that more deportees were reaching Islamabad on Wednesday.

Along with his staff, Mr Asghar reached the Islamabad and arrested them. Most of those arrested belonged to Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat and Kharian.

He said the agency also arrested three human agents — Naimatullah from Pasrur, Yasin Butt from Kamoki and Muhammad Afzal from Hafizabad for sending people illegally to Greece through Turkey.

RELEASED: Over 300 activists of opposition parties, most of them PPP activists, who were arrested during their bid to launch long march on Islamabad a few days ago, were released by local courts on Wednesday.

Reports said that the police had arrested activists of PPP, PML-N, Tehrik-i-Insaaf and other parties from outside the old railway station during the crackdown on them.

It was stated that these workers were released on the directive by the interim government to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.
