ISLAMABAD, Nov 19: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) and Technical and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technical and vocational training for employees choosing the Voluntary Separation from Service (VSS) package.

The president and CEO of PTCL, Mr Walid Irshaid, and chairman Tevta, Mr Khalid Mehmood, were present at the signing ceremony, held at PTCL headquarters. PTCL’s senior executive vice-president Human Resource and Administration, Ismail Salih Taha and Tevta’s Arshad Bhatti signed the MoU.

According to the MoU, Tevta resource persons would participate in road shows organised by PTCL to enable their former employees to choose the best courses according to market needs and their future plans.

Mr Irshaid hoped the vocational training and capacity-building would help PTCL workers, who opt for VSS, to easily adjust in their desired fields.—Our Reporter
