Teachers warn of protest

TIMERGARA, Nov 18: Teachers of government primary schools in Dir Lower on Sunday warned that they would not cooperate with the National Commission for Human Development if the government did not solve their problems.

This was announced at a meeting of the All-Primary Teachers Association (APTA), Dir Lower, held here with its provincial vice-president Badshah Mahmood in the chair.

The teachers said that the NCHD’s educational activities were being carried out by primary school teachers without any cost.

They said that the former provincial government and education authorities had promised to approve service structure and upgradation of primary teachers but their demands were not fulfilled.

The meeting criticised the violence against teachers in Balochistan and demanded arrest of those involved in the incident.

It warned that if the government failed to announce service structure and upgradation for primary schools teachers, the association would extend its protest to the provincial level.
