Railway employee killed in blast

By Ali Hazrat Bacha

PESHAWAR, Nov 18: A railway employee was killed when a bomb exploded in a compartment of the Khushaal Express in Ajab Bagh.

The train was going to Peshawar from Karachi.

According to police, all passengers in the compartment had disembarked at a previous railway station.

The explosion blew up the railway line causing suspension of traffic for at least three hours.

Security officials said it was not clear where the bomb had been planted, adding that it had probably been placed in the compartment and set off by a remote control.

Railways officials and police authorities cordoned off the area, and managed to restore the traffic after about three hours.
