PESHAWAR, Nov 17: Mr Pakistan bodybuilding contest will be held, for the first time, as per world bodybuilding rules, an official of the Peshawar District Bodybuilding Association revealed on Saturday.

The event will be held here on Dec 16, while judgment, weight and drug checks will be conducted a day earlier.

According to the world rules, players have to compete in 10 different weight categories instead of six. The classes are 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, 95kg, 100kg and over 100kg.

In addition, competitions for players below 21 years of age will be held in six different classes of weight like 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and over 75kg. Previously there were only two weight categories.

Over 200 bodybuilders from Army, Navy, Wapda, Railways, Police, Islamabad, FATA and the four provinces are gearing up to compete. It is also for the first time that various departments are featuring in the event.

World International Bodybuilding Association’s and World Bodybuilding Rules’ nominees will also be coming to watch the contest.—APP
