RAWALPINDI, Nov 17: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) here on Saturday remanded a man in police custody for spreading defamatory material against a Supreme Court judge who had taken oath under the Provisional Constitution Order.
ATC-1 judge Habibur Rehman gave Hammad Abbasi, a worker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in the custody of Murree police.
Police sought remand of the accused to recover more defamatory material. He was arrested from Murree on Friday while allegedly writing slogans on the walls against the apex court judge. He was charged with acts of terrorism and defamation.
Meanwhile, the ATC judge deferred the hearing in the case of two brothers, suspected for their involvement in two suicide blast in the capital, till Nov 24.
Accused Faisal and Qasim Mushtaq were arrested by the Islamabad police in August from Shahzad Town police station area with explosive materials and illegal weapons.
