KARACHI, Nov 17: The Environmental Protection Tribunal of Sindh adjourned on Saturday the hearings in nine cases pertaining to environmental pollution which had been submitted by the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) alleging that some of the tanneries in the Korangi area were violating national standards of environment quality.
According to an officer of the tribunal, member technical Dr Samiuzzaman and member legal Ms Soofia Latifi were in attendance at the DHA premises of the tribunal which is run by the federal government. Acting under the instructions of the tribunal’s chairperson, who was not present, Dr Samiuzzaman and Ms Latifi asked the representatives of the tanneries and the Sepa legal attorney to return on December 1.
