NAWABSHAH, Nov 15: Senior lawyer and a leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Lawyers Forum, Fakir Mohammed Arain, who was arrested on Nov 8 in the wake of lawyers’ protest against imposition of emergency, was released on Thursday.
Mr Arain who was accorded warm welcome by the members of District Bar Association on his return said in a press statement that he would continue struggle for the restoration of democracy and independence of judiciary.
He said that he had not signed any bond to get released. Sources in police also confirmed that he had been freed without signing any undertaking.
Meanwhile, general secretary of Nawabshah DBA and an office bearer of Nawabshah People’s Lawyers Forum, Ayaz Ali Gopang, who was arrested on Nov 5, resigned from the post of PLF general secretary after signing a surety bond to get released on Nov 12.
