HYDERABAD, Nov 15: Ten more activists of Awami Tehrik courted arrest in Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad on Thursday in protest against imposition of emergency, dismissal of judges, curbs on independent media and large-scale arrests of political parties activists and lawyers.

Makki Shah police picked up AT activists Ayaz Khaskheli, Mohammad Saleh, Isra Nizamani, Noor Palijo and Sadiq Buledi when they courted arrest by staging a demonstration in the court premises.

In Mirpurkhas, Budho Bheel, Mohan Bheel, Nasho Kolhi, Arif Chandio and Noor Mohammad Khaskheli courted arrest.

AT chief Rasool Bux Palijo said, meanwhile, that 160 million people of the country had been held hostages under the new martial law imposed on Nov 3. The rulers had caused irreparable damage to Pakistan, he regretted.

Mr Palijo said in a press statement that massive protests by people proved that they would never accept this new invasion by dictators on their own countrymen.
