One soldier killed, 10 hurt in blast

By Our Correspondent

MIRAMSHAH, Nov 13: Security forces pounded several suspected militant positions in North Waziristan on Tuesday after a paramilitary soldier was killed and 10 others were injured in a bomb blast.

A convoy of troops was coming from Ghulam Khan to Miramshah on Monday night when one of its vehicles hit the bomb.

According to sources, security forces fired artillery shells from their base in Miramshah on militants’ positions in Ghulam Khan, Saidgai and Nowrek villages along the Afghan border. The shelling continued throughout the day. There were reports of villagers moving to other places.

Meanwhile, the agency’s political administration has advised residents of some villages in Datakhel to leave their homes amid reports that security forces are planning an operation.
