PARACHINAR, Nov 11: The bomb disposal squad defused a powerful explosive device in Sateen area of the Lower Kurram Agency on Sunday, officials said.

They said that the device contained nine kilogrammes of explosives and had been planted near the residence of a tribesman named Umar Khan.

Residents had found the device and informed the local authorities.

The administration dispatched explosives experts who defused the device.
