48 deported from Turkey arrive

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Nov 11: A batch of 48 Pakistani illegal immigrants, deported by Turkish authorities, arrived at the Islamabad International Airport on Sunday.

A senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency (immigration) said that the deportees were handed over to the FIA’s passport cell for investigations.

Over 2,000 illegal immigrants have been deported from Turkey since the embassy of Pakistan in Greece informed the government that a large number of illegal immigrants, taken to Turkey by a gang of human smugglers, were waiting to enter Greece and Italy.

ROBBERY: Unidentified robbers snatched a bag containing Rs55,000 in cash and calling cards from a salesman in the Civil Lines area.

Idris Ahmed told police that he was on way to office after selling calling cards and cellphone SIMs when two unidentified motorcycle riders looted him.
