PESHAWAR: Move against unauthorised trainers

PESHAWAR, Nov 11: The NWFP Health Regulatory Authority has taken note of training in ultra-sonography to lady health visitors, nurses and homoeopathic doctors by unauthorised people who were charging thousands of rupees.

The authority clarified that under the NWFP Medical and Healthcare Ordinance, 2002, a person who was not a qualified doctor and not registered with the PMDC was not eligible to practise ultra-sonography.

It said violators could face a fine of Rs50,000 to Rs1 million or imprisonment from six months to seven years or both.
