HYDERABAD, Nov 10: The DCO of Hyderabad, Aftab Ahmed Khatri, has constituted a committee headed by SP City Hyderabad, Khawar Akbar Shaikh, with one representative each from Traffic Police, HDP and TMA concerned to prepare a route map for diversion of traffic during rehabilitation work of the bridge on Phulelli canal on Hyderabad bypass with a view to facilitating commuters and transporters.

He decided this while presiding over a meeting at his office here on Saturday.

The DCO informed the meeting that the authorities concerned have decided to repair and re-strengthen the bridge on Phulelli canal with Hyderabad bypass road and has approached the district government for helping in diversion of traffic flow by providing alternative route.

The meeting discussed different proposals including usage of old National Highway route from Hala Naka, Pathan Colony and Rajputana Hospital to bypass road, undertaking repair work of two-way bridge on Phulelli canal one-by-one in rotation or using Dadu--Moro bridge for diversion of heavy traffic.

Considering the usage of Dadu — Moro bridge as last option, the DCO asked the committee to examine and evaluate the feasibility of alternate traffic passage within the jurisdiction of Hyderabad and submit report with their guiding maps and proposals for implementation by Nov 13.

DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES: The District Development Committee Hyderabad in its meeting held under the chairmanship of DCO Hyderabad, here on Saturday, approved 38 different development schemes under different development programmes at a total cost of Rs239.021 million.
