KARACHI: 80 patients visit free camp

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 10: A free medical camp was organised in Gulistan-i-Jauhar under the auspices of Geriatric Care Foundation of Pakistan on Saturday.

Dr Raana Mahmood, the president of the foundation, said that she and her team examined about 80 elderly patients and gave free medicines at the medical camp, set up at Pehelwan Goth. “We also apprised the visitors about the preventive measures against various diseases,” she added.

She said the foundation looked for locals to volunteer for the programme since it worked on a self-help basis and did not depend on any local or international agency for funding. She said an area resident offered us a place to set up the camp, where people with chronic pulmonary diseases, hyper-tension and blood sugar complaints were examined.
