KARACHI, Nov 10: Normal shipping activity was observed at the port where three ships to load/offload containers and diesel oil were allotted berths at QICT, and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 50pc at the port where five ships occupied berths to load offload containers, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals, respectively, during the report period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 0.107 million tons comprising 0.068 million tons imports and 0.039 million tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 4,585 boxes during the period under review.

As many as four ships, including a container ship, chemical carrier, oil tanker and edible oil vessel sailed out to the sea.
