Klitschko eyes undisputed tag

BERLIN, Nov 9: IBF title holder Vladimir Klitschko said on Thursday he wants to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world by unifying the crowns of the sport’s three main governing bodies.

Klitscho, 31, faces WBO champion Sultan Ibragimov of Russia next February in New York, but wants to go on and unify the WBC, IBF and WBA titles to copy Britain’s Lennox Lewis who was the last fighter to achieve the feat in 1999.

If he beats Ibragimov, Klitschko could then face the WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev who beat Nikolai Valuev to win the title in April.

“Hopefully we can get the title combinations, so that there can be no more questions about who is the best heavyweight in the world,” said Klitschko. “I am the best, and I want the titles.”
