LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Nov 9: Authorities in Jamrud on Friday recovered a foreign national and a local man kidnapped from Peshawar during a raid on a house, official sources said.

Acting on a tip-off, the Khasadar force raided a house in the Ghundi area of Jamrud tehsil on Friday evening and recovered a Nigerian national, Mr Ougstan, and a resident of Hangu, Ayaz Khan.

Officials said they had also arrested two criminals, identified as Sher Muhammad and his son Abdur Rashid, during the raid.

Ayaz Khan had been kidnapped for ransom on Oct 25 from Peshawar. It could not be established how the Nigerian national made his way to the Ghundi area.

Officials at the Jamrud Assistant Political Agent’s office said that a number of Nigerian nationals had been arrested during the last two to three years. Most of them crossed over into tribal areas in search of contraband goods.
