Apma condemns Benazir’s house arrest

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9: The All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) has condemned the house arrest of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and workers of the alliance. In a statement issued here on Friday Chairman APMA Shahbaz Bhatti said that over 20 workers of the alliance had been arrested from Rawalpindi after joining the PPP protest procession.

Mr Bhatti said that the government’s attempts to block the peaceful protest demonstration and arrest of leaders and political workers nullified General Musharaf’s justification for imposition of emergency as a step to curb terrorism and maintain law and order situation.—Our Reporter
