Ponam seeks rule of law

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 9: The Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement has called for restoration of the Constitution and revival of the pre-emergency judiciary. Speaking at a press conference here on Friday at the end of the central council meeting of the nationalist alliance, Ponam’s acting chief Dr Hayee Baloch said President Musharraf’s actions had plunged the country into an intractable crisis.

He said that he would suggest the APDM convener to call a meeting of the alliance to discuss the post-emergency situation.

He said the chief justice and six senior judges were detained for committing no crime. “Unlawful acts of the Musharraf government were unacceptable to the nation.”
