HYDERABAD: Crackdown on encroachments

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Nov 9:Director General HDA Altaf Memon has issued instructions to officials to remove encroachments in the city with the help of district police. He said this while presiding over a meeting of the HDA officials held on Thursday. Secretary, HDA Shoukat Hayat Bhutto, Project Director Qurban Ali Shah, Director Planning and Development, Masood Jumani and other officers attended the meeting.

He said all encroachments should be removed at the very first instance as delay creates many problems. He said only those schemes should be launched which are profitable and all efforts should be made to recover the external development charges of all construction works.

He said in case of shortage of staff in any department, the services of surplus staff from other departments should be acquired. He announced fortnightly meetings will be held to review the progress of different schemes.
