KARACHI: Urdu varsity stops admission in MA Sindhi

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 9: The policy of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) of not offering admissions to the masters’ programme of the Sindhi department has caused resentment among the students.

Official sources said that the university had stopped fresh admissions to the MA previous classes despite approval from its Academic Council.

“From this year we are starting a four-year BS (Bachelor of Science) programme at all its departments including Sindhi,” FUUAST vice-chancellor Dr Kamaluddin told Dawn.

He said that the MA (previous) admissions to the Sindhi department were also not made the last year. “We are starting BS classes on the directives of the Higher Education Commission which is equivalent to masters’ degree,” he said.

Research Methodology

The University of Karachi has announced commencement of third course on Research Methodology for MPhil/PhD students enrolled in 2006 on Nov 19.

The registration form will be available from Nov 10 to 15.
