HYDERABAD, Nov 8: Family members’ cooperation was essential for early recovery of psychiatric patients said a doctor at a one-day “mental health” seminar held at Sir C.J. Institute of Psychiatry here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the newly posted medical superintendent of the institute, Dr Mir Mohammad Shaikh, apprised the measures adopted in the hospital in connection with timely attendance of staff, and improvement in administrative and educational affairs.

Highlighting the problems and difficulties, he said when parents or family members of patients cooperate with hospital management it helps in patients’ early recovery.

Prof Musarrat Hussain of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Karachi briefed about rules and regulations enforced in Pakistan and India. He presented a book, an English translation of a book entitled “Ibrat Kada”, written by Shaikh Ibrahim Khalil in Sindhi language.—Bureau
