FAISALABAD, Nov 6: The District Bar Association decided to start an awareness campaign to muster the support of masses against the imposition of state of emergency and attack on the supremacy of apex court and its judges.

The decision to this effect was taken at the general house meeting of the district bar held at an undisclosed venue under the chair of president Tanvir Randhawa. Nearly 150 lawyers attended Tuesday’s meeting.

A senior member of the district bar Changez Khan Kakar told Dawn that bar members had come to the conclusion to launch a drive against the government through various publications having material against the atrocities and wrongdoings of the government.

He said following the strategy, bar members would distribute handbills, run appeals in different newspapers and do wall chalking. Committees have also been constituted to run the campaign effectively and members have been asked to do their utmost for awakening the public.
