TIMERGARA, Nov 6: Four houses were gutted in Lower Dir in two separate incidents of fire here on Tuesday.

Police and witnesses told Dawn that a fire broke out in the house of Umar Alam in the Koto village because of short-circuit. It soon engulfed adjacent houses, belonging to Bacha Alam and Faridullah.

However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

In another incident, fire destroyed the house of Jan Alam in Munjai village after a haystack collected near the house caught fire. Mr Alam said some children had set the haystack on fire.
