Villagers, police kill 3 robbers

By Our Correspondent

KASUR, Nov 5: Villagers and the police killed three robbers who were fleeing after looting a farmer in the limits of Allabad police station on Monday. Reports said that farmer Malik Sakhawat was returning home after drawing Rs460,000 from a bank when armed robbers intercepted him and snatched cash from him and escaped. On raising hue and cry, villagers chased the robbers and besieged them. In the meanwhile, a police party also reached the spot.

Finding no way to escape, the outlaws opened fire on armed villagers and the policemen. All the robbers died on the spot when villagers and policemen retaliated. Bodies were sent to the mortuary for autopsy. The police were trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased robbers.
