KOHAT, Nov 5: The Saddar police arrested six members of a Customs patrolling team for allegedly killing a man during an exchange of fire on the Indus Highway on Monday morning.

Police said the victim’s family had filed an FIR, claiming that the Customs staff chased their vehicle as they were going to Peshawar from Karak. After a while, the Customs staff fired on the vehicle, killing Noorullah and injuring Nawaz.

In a separate case, Customs Inspector Omar Badshah said the vehicle had been signalled to stop for checking but the driver sped away.

During the chase, the victims opened fire on them. In the ensuing exchange of fire, Noorullah was killed, he said.
