MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 4: The AJK cabinet on Sunday supported the imposition of emergency in Pakistan, saying President Gen Pervez
Musharraf had been pushed against the wall to take this step.
The cabinet took the position at an informal meeting which was held at the PM house here with Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan in the chair.
“Some elements were bent upon sabotaging sincere efforts of the president for national reconciliation and promotion of democracy to pave way for imposition of martial law, but the president merely imposed a state of emergency, keeping democratic institutions such as the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies intact,” the cabinet said.
