Top posts in Islamabad admin, police vacant

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4: The top four posts of Islamabad police and the local administration are lying vacant for the last over one month and the subordinate officials are working on the positions with additional charges.

The post of additional inspector general (AIG) of the special branch has been vacant for the last five months, while that of SSP Diplomatic Protection Department from September 20, inspector general of police and deputy commissioner from October 1.

After the transfer of AIG special branch Rao Iqbal, DSP Mohammad Ashfaq worked on the post for some time with additional charge. When Naeem Khan was appointed as SSP operation on September 20, he was also given the additional charge of the post.

The additional charge was again given to DSP Mohammad Ashfaq after Khan was suspended by the Supreme Court on October 1 for using brute force against lawyers and journalists on September 29.

The post of SSP DPD is lying vacant since September 20 after the transfer of SSP Naeem Khan to the operation department and SP headquarters Taimur Ali Khan is working on the post with the additional charge.
