Talent Hunt tennis Begins today

By Our Sports Correspondent

KARACHI, Nov 2: The 17th Talent Hunt Sindh Ranking tennis championship gets into action at the CDGK Sports Complex courts, Kashmir Road, from Saturday with local boys and girls in different age categories vying for top honours.

The organisers have received around 90 entries for the annual contest which did not carry any prizemoney. Ranking points will be awarded to the successful players.

This time the event will be held sans the outstation players who have opted to stay away for reasons best known to them despite the fact that they are offered daily allowance until their elimination from the event.

In the absence of defending champion Yasir Khan who is competing in Futures ITF circuit in Lahore, Vinod Das has been given top seeding in men’s singles.

Title holder Seher Khwaja is top seed in ladies singles while Abdul Rehman is top seed in juniors and boys U-15 singles. Nameer Shamsi and Khwaja Hamza are top seeds in boys U-13 and U-11 singles.

The tournament concludes on Nov 8.
