ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: A German national of Pakistani origin has accused German embassy of hiding the truth about the alleged kidnapping of her two children, saying they were sent to Germany despite their name were in the exit control list.

Romina Malik speaking at a press conference here on Friday accused the relatives of her former husband of kidnapping her two children Romman Khan, 12, and Yusuf Khan, nine, from her residence at Sector F-6/3 on October 26.

Ms Malik said she lodged a complaint against the kidnappers with the Kohsar police station and got the names of her ex-husband and children enlisted in the exit control list.

She came to know on November 1 that her children were in Germany, she said, adding, she contacted an official of the German embassy and inquired about the whereabouts of her children, but he expressed his ignorance in this regard.

She also contacted the Kohsar police, who said that her children had been sent to Germany, quoting the embassy officials.

Reportedly, her ex-husband never came to Pakistan, so it was clear that some body in Pakistan helped him doing so, she added.

Ms Malik nominated three relatives of her ex-husband in the FIR and police arrested two of them. The appearance of the kidnappers is the same, which was described by the security guard of the area and students of a nearby mosque who saw them while they were taking the children forcefully, she added.

The kidnappers are behind the bars on physical remand, but police failed to trace the whereabouts of her children, she said.

She said her ex-husband had influence with the German police and army.

Giving the motive behind the kidnapping, Ms Malik said she had married to Rukhsar Khan a German citizen on January 3, 1985 and moved to Germany.

After being divorced due to involvement of her husband in terrorist activities, she moved to Pakistan with her children on August 8, she said. Her ex-husband wanted the custody of the children which she could not agree to as he was also trying to involve them in terrorist activities, she alleged.

She also moved court for the custody of her children and wrote a letter to the US President on September 24 and informed him about her husband and his activities.

When contacted, the Kohsar police said the officials of German embassy verbally informed them that they had picked up the two children from Margalla Road and handed over to their father, who arrived in Pakistan to take them back.
