Focus on role of chemistry

Published November 3, 2007

LAHORE, Nov 2: The role of a chemist cannot be denied in any field whether it is pharmaceuticals, synthesis of new materials or polymer manufacturing.

Lahore College for Women University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mateen said this while speaking at the inaugural session of a two-day international chemistry conference on “Recent advances in chemistry” organised by the chemistry department in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission and the Chemical Society of Pakistan on Friday.

Prof Mateen said the chemists were blamed for ruining the environment and society but it was not true because everything could be used for good or wrong causes.
