HYDERABAD, Nov 2: The Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate-VII Hyderabad, here on Friday remanded Nadeem Akhtar to police custody for three days in the murder case of Rehan alias Shakeel son of Absaruddin, a bangle dealer.

He was produced before the court by the A-section investigation police for obtaining remand. He was also under remand in police custody in the murder case of Haseeb Ahmed, a high school teacher for interrogation.

According to Supervising Police Officer (SPO) Latifabad, Ayub Durrani, police took him to lined channel where he had disposed of the parts of Rehan’s body after cutting it into several pieces. He was then taken to Edhi’s Khursheed town centre for identification of the head of deceased.

Edhi volunteers had recovered head from the lined channel some time back and it was yet to be verified whether it was of Rehan alias Shakeel.

Police were still interrogating the accused that he might confess any other murder that might have been committed by him in a similar fashion.

Police are approaching Hyderabad railway authorities to know whether anyone of railway station employee is missing following a dispute with Nadeem Akhtar.

Police believed that he is a serial killer but the accused said that he had committed only two murders and that too after losing all his senses and for want of money to clear his debt.

Police have not released four nephews of Nadeem Akhtar who were also picked-up after severed limbs of Haseeb Ahmed were found from the water storage tank of Akhtar.

Their father Abdul Muqeem is reported to have suffered a heart attack.

He called this correspondent over cell phone and said that he couldn’t approach police because of his condition. “My sons are not involved in the case in any matter”, he said.
