SC seeks report on Karachi blasts

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the interior minister, Sindh chief secretary and the provincial police officer to submit in a week a report on the Oct 18 Karachi carnage.

The Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice of the attack on a PPP procession that had left over 140 people dead and more than 400 injured.

During the hearing on Thursday, the bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry also ordered police to remove from the courtroom Maulvi Iqbal Haider, who has a penchant for filing petitions on important issues. The bench banned Maulvi Iqbal’s entry in the Supreme Court.
