SWABI, Nov 1: Contrary to claims of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmad, district leaders of the two parties continue to criticise each other, saying that party workers were ignored by the ministers in the erstwhile NWFP government.
Jammat-i-Islami leaders allege accuse former NWFP education minister Maulana Fazal Ali of the JUI of victimising teachers belonging to the Jamaat.
The JUI chief had said during his visit to Swabi on Saturday that the Muttahida Majlsi-i-Amal was intact and differences in its ranks had been overcome.
However, sources said that the MMA leadership faced an uphill task in resolving differences between the two parties.
Provincial Jamaat chief Sirajul Haq, during his visit on Sunday, appealed to JUI leaders and workers to stop issuing statements against Qazi Hussain and urged them to focus on strengthening the MMA for the coming elections.
District leaders of the Jamaat said teachers affiliated with their party had remained posted in remote areas and their applications for transfer were not entertained.
On the other hand, JUI leaders accuse the district Zakat committee chairman, who belonged to the Jamaat, of ignoring deserving workers of their party in disbursement of the funds.
