HYDERABAD: Hesco asked to remove pylons

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Nov 1: Hesco authorities have been asked by District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil to shift electricity poles from the middle of roads.

He reminded the authorities of advance payment made by the district government in this regard and said poles were creating difficulties for the people.

He said the procedure of detection bills should be streamlined to provide relief to consumers.

The Nazim presided over a joint meeting of Hesco and district government officials at his Secretariat here on Wednesday.

District Nazim conceded Hesco was incurring huge losses but said as it was a public utility and had to satisfy consumers.

The district government had provided funds to Hesco a year back to shift power pylons but the work had yet not been completed and added: “These pylons were creating traffic impediments and needed to be shifted without delay.”
