AMRITSAR (India), Oct 31: Amritsar police on Wednesday busted a gang of bookies, involved in betting on the one-dayer played between Pakistan and South Africa in Lahore last Monday.

On specific information, a police squad raided a guesthouse located at Queens Road in Amritsar and found six persons indulging in betting, police said.

A mini exchange, consisting of 12 mobile phones, a brief case containing all systems, and a TV was recovered from the spot.

“We arrested them while the match was in progress,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Pratap Singh.—Agencies
