Protesters injured for blocking traffic

By Tariq Naqash

MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 31: A number of demonstrators were injured when police baton-charged them for blocking traffic on a road here on Wednesday, forcing shopkeepers to pull down their shutters.

The demonstration was held by around 50 people in protest against Tuesday’s official notification about Muzaffarabad’s master plan.

The demonstrators raised slogans against the Sardar Attique government and the shifting of the capital and burnt tyres on the road.

A police party baton-charged the demonstrators to disperse them.

Three of the injured demonstrators were arrested and taken to the city police station. They were released after three hours.
