LAHORE, Oct 31: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf on Wednesday invited applications from aspirants to contest general seats for the national and provincial assemblies, and said it would field only selfless candidates.

Addressing a press conference, PTI provincial president Ahsan Rasheed said the party had formed a parliamentary board consisting of senior members of the party to select suitable candidates for the upcoming general elections.

He said the party had not accepted the code of ethics issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The government had resorted to foul-play after getting frightened by the popularity of component parties of All Pakistan Democratic Movement.

He said the government had failed to protect the masses from suicide bombings, which was highly condemnable. The protection of people’s life and property was prime duty of the incumbent government, but it had abysmally failed in discharging its duties, he added.—Staff Reporter
