CM denies district status to Gujar Khan

GUJAR KHAN, Oct 31: The Punjab chief minister has said the PML government is committed to fulfilling the promises it made to the public and over 64,000 primary schools have been upgraded and medicines are now easily available in the province.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi said this while approving some projects for education, health, roads and gas supply, presented by the town nazim, Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem, and city district nazim, Raja Jawaid Ikhlas here. While deferring the public demand of ‘district status’ for Gujar Khan, the chief minister said it was not a solution to the masses problems. He said at the moment Mr Ikhlas, a local, was working as the chief executive of the Rawalpindi district.—Correspondent
