FM for stronger ties with Kazakhstan


ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri on Tuesday underscored the importance of Pakistan’s relations with Kazakhstan and advocated greater interaction between the two nations.

Mr Kasuri made these observations while talking to the visiting Kazakh media delegation that called on him at the Foreign Office.

The delegation, which is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of the Area Study Centre for Central Asia, Peshawar, includes representatives of Kazakh think-tanks, television channels and newspapers.

Pointing to the close and friendly relations with Kazakhstan, Mr Kasuri referred to the immense reservoir of mutual goodwill, a statement issued by the minister’s office said. He stressed the need for regular exchange of scholars, intellectuals and media and cultural delegations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

According to the statement, the foreign minister while welcoming the delegation emphasised the importance of relationship with Central Asia that drew strength from the abiding kinship of faith, culture and historical experience. —Staff Reporter
