KARACHI, Oct 30: Five ships carrying chemicals, containers and to load naphtha are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing was active at the wharves where eight ships, Sarncas Star to unload cars, Kota Gunawan, Oel Spirit, Sinar Bintan and Miyunhe to unload and load containers, Atlantic Project to offload and load general cargo, Iran Faraz and Rising Sun, tanker were accommodated berths.

Six ships, Wan Hai-301, Jitra Bhum, Hansa Century, Gelina and Bunga Melati Star departed on Tuesday, while Kota Gunawan, Ever Gentile, Atlantic Project, Gelina and Miyunhe, are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active as the total tonnage handled rose to 0.118m tons comprising 21,704 tons of export cargo including 1,593 tons of rice and 3,866 tons of cement and 96,083 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Liquid Success with chemicals, Akaki with crude oil, Emerald Isle to load naphtha, Hyundai Stride and Aex Trubaki with containers.
