Sohail marks debut with 10-wkt haul as SSGC crush Customs: Quaid-i-Azam Trophy

KARACHI, Oct 29: Lahore Ravi, National Bank, SSGC, Multan and Islamabad all won their matches in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship on Monday. Medium-pacer Sohail Khan marked his entry into first-class cricket in emphatic fashion as he bagged match figures of 10 for 133 as newcomers SSGC trounced Pakistan Customs by 126 runs at the NBP Sports Complex.

Lahore Ravi annihilated Karachi Whites by an innings and 118 runs on the fourth and final day of their fixture at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.

Multan also recorded a similar win, thrashing Sialkot by an innings and 139 runs at the Sheikhupura Stadium with paceman Mohammad Kashif taking nine for 84 in the game.

National Bank romped home by eight wickets against hosts Faisalabad at the Iqbal Stadium. Opener Nasir Jamshed finished 63 not out after making 126 in the first innings.

Islamabad, meanwhile, recorded a narrow two-wicket win over Lahore Shalimar at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad.

PIA earned an honourable draw against KRL at the latter’s stadium in Rawalpindi thanks to tenacious knocks by their skipper Faisal Iqbal, his younger brother Fahad and opener Kamran Sajid.

The struggling Karachi Blues were frustrated by Quetta, who batted their way to a draw at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.

Unbeaten centuries by Usman Saeed and Yasir Ali, who reached three figures for the first time in his career, helped Rawalpindi score 352 for four in reply to Abbottabad’s 376 on the third day of their fixture at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

At Asghar Ali Shah Stadium, Karachi: Lahore Ravi beat Karachi Whites by an innings and 118 runs.

At NBP Sports Complex, Karachi: SSGC beat Pakistan Customs by 126 runs.
